K9 Roky died May 26 after serving the county for nine years.
Sheriff Mark Podoll said the body will be escorted back to the sheriff’s office at 11 a.m. on June 5, followed by a service and lunch.
Roky and his handler, Sgt. Michael Prachel, were certified for drug cases and tracking. The sheriff said Roky removed a “significant amounts of drugs” from the community, leading to the arrests of drug traffickers. He also safely tracked down several people during his career.
“Roky also brought joy to classrooms and community groups” during his visits, Sheriff Podoll remembered. He also said Roky had one of the best singing voices among the county’s law enforcement officers at Singing with Seniors events.
The sheriff’s office is located at 571 County Rd. A in Green Lake.
