Board Meeting

MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES

February 3, 2020

 

The board meeting was called to order by Kate Tyczinski at 6:05 p.m.  Others present were Sara Wilson, Julie Barden, Lenny Glover, Betty Kastenschmidt, Kes Thompson, Lorrie Jansma and Kathy Jerome.  Also present was Kim Zills.  Motion by Kes and seconded by Lorrie to approve the previous meeting minutes.  Motion by Kes and seconded by Lorrie to approve the treasurer's report.  Both motions passed.    

 

OLD BUSINESS

1.  Tai Chi:  Sara reported that 34 people attended Tai Chi classes this month.                    

2.  Kim Zills Visiting:  Sara introduced Kim Zills to the board.  Kim told the board about herself and said that she had been asked to be the County Board representative to the library.        

 

BUILDING PLANS:

1.  Reading Room & Savvy Senior Program:  Sara advised that on February 5th a class will be held about Better Brain Health.  On February 19th a class will be held about Cooking for One or Two.

 Shelving and Computer Desks:  Sara reported that the new shelving that was started in 2016 and the new computer desks just arrived.  The old computer desks are being sold for a price of $40 each. 

3.  Leak:   Sara advised that she noticed a water stain on the ceiling, and she thought we should get some-one to check out the roof.  Lenny will get a name of someone to contact.   

       

NEW BUSINESS

1.  Renewed Director's License:  Sara advised that she has completed the required 100 hours of education and has renewed her director's license for another five years.  

2.  Finished the Annual Report:  Sara advised that the annual report is completed.  It was reviewed by the board.  Motion by Lenny and seconded by Betty to approve the annual report.  The motion passed and the report was signed by Kate.

3.  For the Birds Fundraiser:  Sara has applied to Thrivent for funds and has received $250 to cover costs for this fundraiser.      

 

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS

Sara advised that the new book display is up and is "A Blind Date with a Book".  She also advised that she received a thank you from Joy Waterbury for the gift card sent to her. She also advised that the copy machine is not working and will have it fixed.   

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Kathy and was seconded by Julie at 6:38 p.m.
