MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES
September 3, 2019
The board meeting was called to order by Kate Tyczinski at 6:07 p.m. Others present were Sara Wilson, Julie Barden, Joy Waterbury, Lenny Glover, Kes Thompson and Betty Kastenschmidt. Lorrie Jansma and Kathy Jerome were absent. Motion by Kes and seconded by Joy to approve the previous meeting minutes. Motion by Lenny and seconded by Betty to approve the treasurer's report. Both motions passed.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Rummage for Reading Table: The rummage table was taken down last month for the Paint Your Junk Fundraiser.
2. Tai Chi: Sara reported that 8 classes have been held with 27 people attending. This session is completed, and another session will be starting Tuesday, September 17 at 5:15 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 18 at 9:00 a.m.
3. Paint your junk: Sara reported that we made $475 from this fundraiser. It was decided that summer was not a good time for this fundraiser. Joy suggested that next year we try painting bird houses or anything for birds and call it "For the Birds".
4. Nickolas Butler Books: Sara reported that the Nickolas Butler books are going out well and that each library has 10 books to sell for his appearance on October 5 in Berlin.
BUILDING PLANS:
1. Reading Room: Sara reported that the chairs are here and that we have a cabinet now. She is working with Betty Bradley, from Green Lake County, to get some programming set up. We received a $2500 grant for redoing the room. Coffee and snacks will be available for a donation.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Basket Fundraiser: We will hold a basket fundraiser with baskets due by November 2. The theme will be "BYOB" - Bring your own Bottle (the basket should contain some kind of bottle).
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
A discussion was held about having an open house for the new Reading Room and inviting the municipal boards in hopes of getting some of them to come see the library.
A motion to adjourn was made by Joy and was seconded by Kes at 6:37 p.m.
