6/8/16 Summer Reading Program - Exercise Your Mind!!

Our Summer Reading Program will begin on Thursday, June 30th with the theme this year being Exercise Your Mind...Read!  The program starts at 2pm and runs for 4 weeks.  Sarah Chastain, a 6th grade school teacher at Markesan District schools will be leading the group in fun adventures that do exercise the mind, so stop by and sign up today.  And look for the librarians or their helpers, from all 5 of the Green Lake County libraries, in the June Dairy Days parade this weekend.  We will be handing out pamphlets and bookmarks with dates for summer reading programs at all of the libraries. 

4/27/16 Pretty Pallets Fundraiser has begun!

The silent auction for the Pretty Pallets Fundraiser has begun. Bidding goes from Monday, April 25 until Saturday, May 5th. We have 38 items and not only would they make great additions to your garden or home, but they would also make wonderful gifts. There is a potting table, several painted pallets, birdhouses, wooden fishing lures, plaques, garden beds, and glass garden art to name a few. Stop in and place a bid today and you could be the lucky owner of a unique piece of art!

4/7/16 Pretty Pallet Projects Fundraiser UPDATE!


Our first donation for the Pretty Pallet Projects Fundraiser  has come in.  It's an adorable frog hanging on a fence with a planter below him.  Several other patrons have let us know that their project is almost done.  Look for all the creative Pretty Pallet Projects to be auctioned off in a silent auction starting April 25th and ending May 7th.  One of these items would make a great Mother's Day gift!  Money raised from the silent auction will go towards some new shelving to help with crowded shelves. 

3/16/16 Pretty Pallet Project Fundraiser

We are working on our next fundraiser.  Pretty Pallet Projects!  Wood pallets have long been vital to shipping processes.  Much more recently, they have become popular for home and outdoor projects.  It's not hard to see why.  Pallet wood is cheaper than regular wood, and using it is a form of recycling.  Perhaps more important than that though, is a pallets character.  All wood is unique, but pal

2/24/16 Coloring Contest

In the beginning of February the Mill Pond Library held an Adult Coloring Class which was very well attended despite the winter weather.  Now those classmates have finished their works of art and they are on display, waiting for you to vote on them.  There are several subjects, from an octopus to birds to gardens and flowers.  Some have sayings, some are just colored.  They will be on display from Monday Feb.

02/16/2016 Coloring Entries Due Soon

Are you working on your adult coloring picture?  The contest deadline date is getting close.  If you’ve created a beautiful design bring it to the library and enter it in our Adult Coloring Contest. Entrants 18 & older can enter 1 picture which must be in  by Feb. 20th, this Saturday. The library will display the entries the following  2 weeks, Feb. 22nd through March 5th, and let the public vote, a penny per vote. 1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded.  Don't delay, bring your picture in today!

02/10/2016 Road to the Oscars

Our Road to the Oscar movie nights have begun.  Every Thursday in February, starting at 6pm,  we will be screening an Acadamy Nominated film.  This Thursday, Feb. 11th, we will be watching Bridge of Spies.  It's a dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events.  Bridge of Spies tells the story of James Donovan (Tom Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on a near impossible mission to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot.
