MILL POND PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES
November 3, 2014
The meeting was called to order by Jean Winther at 6:05 p.m. Others present were Kathy Sletten, Betty Kastenschmidt, Kate Tyczinski, Lenny Glover and Sara Wilson. Joy Waterbury arrived late. Jes Walker and Chrissy Michels were absent. Kes Thompson also attended the meeting. A motion was made by Kate and seconded by Kathy to approve the minutes for October 6, 2014 and the treasurer’s report.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Auction Fundraiser: The Auction brought us a profit of $3,342. Everyone felt that it was a good result considering the small crowd we had.
2. Shopwithscrip.com: Kes explained how Shop With Scrip works. She advised that we have an account set up with them and we are ready to order. It will cost us $7.50 for every order we send in. After a discussion, Betty made a motion that we do a trial run before Christmas this year. Kathy seconded the motion. Sara will get posters and bookmarks printed up by Winnefox.
3. Budget: Sara reported that she has the 2015 budget and the pie chart printed up and ready for those going to the municipalities. Kathy will go to the Town of Kingston, Sara will go to the Village of Kingston, Jean will go to the Village of Marquette, and Lenny will go to the Town of Marquette.
BUILDING PLANS:
1. Back Room: Sara reported that the books are slowly getting put back on the shelves and the back room is getting back to normal.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Copy Machine: The copy machine has been ordered but has not arrived yet.
2. Changing DVD Checkout: A discussion was held about the time we check out DVD's. Sara explained that Winnefox likes to have things uniform in the system and most libraries check out DVD's for one week. It was decided that because of our limited supply of DVD's it would be better for our library to keep the checkout time at 3 days.
3. Businessmen's Group & Santa: Sara advised that there is a possibility that the businessmen's group may dissolve but they will be paying for Santa to come this year.
TOPICS FROM THE FLOOR
Sara advised that Chrissy has missed four of the past ten meetings and may want to resign from the board.
Kathy advised that she is involved with the Green Lake Photo Club but their meetings are the same day as ours. After a discussion, a motion was made by Jean and seconded by Kathy to begin meeting the last Monday of the month starting in January, 2015
Motion by Kate and seconded by Kathy to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 P.M.
